Death

Jeremiah Milton Brumbaugh of Mapleton Depot passed away at 7:10 p.m.
Saturday, January 16, 1954, at his home. He had been ill for one month. He was born May 6, 1873, at Mapleton, a son of Michael and Carolyn (Wharton) Brumbaugh. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gladfelter April 25, 1895, in Mapleton. She passed away May 8, 1939. Mr. Brumbaugh was a member of the Methodist Church of Mapleton and IOOF Lodge of Mapleton. He was employed throughout his life by the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Company. The following children survive: Emory Brumbaugh of Mount Union, Mrs. Annie Harpster, William D. Brumbaugh, and Mrs. Nellie Himes, all of Mapleton. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. One son, Blair Brumbaugh, and a step-son, Bruce Hooper, preceded him in death. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, at 2 p.m. at the Mapleton Methodist Church. The Rev. James A. Farrar, pastor of the Methodist Church of Mapleton, assisted by the Rev. Charles Miller, will officiate and burial will be made in the IOOF Cemetery at Mapleton. Friends may call at the Clark funeral home in Mount Union after 6 p.m. this Monday evening until 11 a.m. Wednesday, when they may call at the church until the hour of services.
