MAURICE BRUMBAUGH (wife Evelyn still living -- in her 90s)
Maurice BRUMBAUGH, 84, 2300 Prairie St., died 8:40 p.m. Saturday (July 30, 1988) at his home after a three-month illness.
He was born March 23, 1904, in Elkhart County. He married Evelyn HOLDERMAN on June 5, 1929, in Elkhart. She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Lamar (Marilyn) WISE, Elkhart; a son, Larry, of Bristol; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian CARLSON, of Elkhart. Four sisters and a brother are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the White Funeral Home where services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Arlin Claassen of the Elkhart City Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in the Prairie Street Cemetery.
Mr. BRUMBAUGH was a cable splicer for the General Telephone Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1969.
Memorials may be given to the Elkhart Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society of Elkhart County.
