Last Will & Testament I, Jacob RUSSELL, of Hopewell Township, Huntingdon County, Pa, of do make and publish this my last will & testament hereby Jacob RUSSELL expressly revoking any & all former wills made by me. heretofore-
1st I direct my Executors to pay my funeral expenses & all my just debts
out of the first money or assets that shall come into their hands.
2nd I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Catharine RUSSELL the use of all my household & kitchen furniture during her life and also sufficient room in my mansion house for her comfortable living -and also the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid to her as soon as possible after my death-and I direct that my sons, David, Samuel, Abraham, Isaac & John RUSSELL shall pay to her annually during her life the sum of One hundred dollars being twenty dollars each, & I hereby expressly charge the real estate hereinafter devised to these sons with the payment of this annual sum. The legacy of three hundred dollars is to be paid to her out of my personal property.
3rd I give and devise to my sons David, Samuel & Abraham RUSSELL my two farms in Hopewell Township, adjoining each other, and to their heirs in fee simple. one of which contains about 1 60 acres the other about 187 acres-both being part of the old EDEN farm-& bounded by lands of SHIVLEYS, ENTRIKEN & WEAVER - subject nevertheless to the change hereinbefore made in favor of my wife, & also the charges hereinafter to be made-
4th I give and devise to my sons Isaac & John RUSSELL my mansion farm in Hopewell Township, containing about 220 acres to be held by them & their heirs in fee simple. but subject to the charge hereinbefore made for my wife & also the charges hereinafter made-
5th I give & devise to my sons David, Samuel, Abraham, Isaac & John &
their heirs my tract of mountain land containing 27 acres lying in Hopewell Township & bounded on south by land of Jno. B. WEAVER & on East by my mansion farm-
6th I give & bequeath to my sons Daniel & James RUSSELL each the sum of Two thousand dollars, & direct the ?? one to be paid by my sons David, Samuel & Abraham & I expressly charge the payment thereof ?? real estate hereinbefore devised to them-Payment to be made in one year after my death without interest-
7th I give & bequeath to my daughters Mary KEITH & Susannah FISHER & their heirs, each, the sum of twelve hundred dollars, & to my daughters
Rosannah RUSSELL, the sum of sixteen hundred dollars, * direct the same to be paid by my sons Isaac & John within one year after my death, without interest, & I expressly charge the real estate hereinbefore devised to them with the payment thereof-making $4000.
8th After the payments of my debts, funeral expenses & the legacy of three hundred dollars to my wife, I give the balance of my personal estate of whatsoever kind it may be except my household and kitchen furniture to my sons, David, Samuel, Abraham, Isaac & John share and share alike
9th Upon the death of my wife I give & bequeath the household and kitchen furniture to my ten children equally if they can agree upon a division thereof-if not, the executors or the ?? is to sell it, & divide the proceeds equally among them
10th My personal property, except as stated in item 9th above is to be
sold by my executors & applied & distributed as hereinbefore described ? interlined before signing applied & distributed herein before described.
11th I hereby appoint my sons John & Isaac RUSSELL , Executors of this my last will

His son, Jacob RUSSELL, was also a large land owner and a farmer, having 500 acres of land which he improved and cultivated. He filled the offices of tax collector and supervisor of Hopewell township. He was a Democrat. Jacob RUSSELL married Catherine, daughter of Christian WEAVER, of Hopewell township. They had ten children: Susanna, deceased, wife of
William FISHER of Illinois; David, of Hopewell township; Samuel, of Hopewell township; Daniel, of Bedford county, Pa.; James, resides with his brother John W.; and Rosanna, deceased, wife of Philip BRUMBAUGH.
Mr. RUSSELL died in 1869, and his wife in 1873. He was a member of the Reformed church, a good and respected man.
