MANHATTAN, Kan. - Robert Snyder "Bob" Notestine Jr., 72, of Manhattan, Kan., passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, Kan.Robert was born Dec. 23, 1940, in Lewistown, a son of the late Beulah (Pry) Kelley and Robert Snyder Notestine Sr.He was a retired chief warrant officer 2, having served 20 years in the U.S. Army. His numerous decorations included the Bronze Star. He served in many locations overseas and in the U.S., including tours in Vietnam. After retirement from the Army, he was a recipient of multiple awards during his 10 years as a sales representative with Pitney Bowes.He was a life long member of First United Methodist Church, Lewistown, and belonged to the American
Legion. He was an avid supporter of K-State Athletics and the Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed traveling to visit family across the United States and Canada. He faithfully worked out at fitness centers and greatly enjoyed the friends he made there.Robert is survived by: his wife, Patricia Notestine; two daughters, Wendy Jane Knouse and her husband, Curt, of McVeytown, and Kathleen Wood, of San Francisco; one son, Robert S. Wood, of Kansas City, Mont.; one daughter- in-law, Kimberly Notestine, of Benton; two brothers, Ronald E. Notestine and his wife, Ruth, of Reedsville, and Dennis Notestine and his wife, Linda, of Lewistown; grandchildren, Cassandra McCachren and her husband, Peter, Clintin Knouse, Christian Knouse, Rachel Notestine and Emily Notestine.He was preceded in death by one son, R. Gregory Notestine.At Robert's request there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to
the charity of the donor's choice. Bob was a supporter of the Ahearn Fund for Kansas State University Athletics, Ahearn Fund, 1800 College Ave., Suite 138, Bramlage Coliseum, Manhattan, KS 66502.
