Death
Abraham V Harbst, 56,6th Avenue Burnham suffered a heart seizure in the drug store at State College and was pronounced dead upon arrival at 5:35 pm Friday at the Bellefonte Hospital. Mr Harbst safety director at the Standard Steel Divison for 30 years,was born in Towanda,Bradford County, July 28,1912 a son of the late William T and Mary A Corson Harbst. He is survived by his wife Dorothy M Havice to whom he married in 1931, a daughter Mrs Walter (Kathryn) Shore,7th Avenue Burnham, two sons Neil W Harbst of Titusville, Florida, and Larry V Harbst of Harvard Street. The following brothers and sisters survive John E Harbst of Highland Avenue, Wilmont T Harbst of Maple Avenue, Mrs Yettie M Ferguson of Youngstown,Arizona, Mrs Wilson (Nellie) Rehmeyer of Camp Hill, David L Harbst of Baltimore, Maryland, Paul R Harbst of Reedsville,Mrs David (Mary) Dilling of Cumberland Maryland, Mrs Samuel (Verna) Henry of Landisville,Lancaster County, and Mrs Chester (Laura) Rhodes of Ferguson Valley, and six grand children. Mr Harbst is a past president and present chairman of the Mifflin County Tuberculosis and health society, past president of the Central Pennsylvania Safety Association,and the past president of the Burnham Borough Council, also belonged to the Burnham United Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee and treasurer for a number of years,the Standard Supervisors Association and the Lewistown Masonic Lodge 203. Services will be held at the Heller's Burnham Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in charge Rev. Robert L Zorn. Interment will be in the Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Masonic rites will be held at 8:30 pm Sunday.
