VERSAILLES — Treva M. Shimp, age 88, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, Sept.17, 2015, at Kindred Hospital in Dayton. Treva was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Miami County to the late Harvey and Pearl (Warner) Laughman.Treva formerly worked at the Buckeye Overall Factory in Versailles and Coldwater. Treva was a member of the Versailles Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.Treva is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Richard Punches of Bradford; granddaughters, Julie and John Rowe and Lisa and David Zeh; great-grandchildren, Hannah Rowe, Abigail Rowe, Payton Zeh and Kelsey Zeh; sisters-in-law, Helen Witt of Versailles, Barbara and John Berger of Versailles and Jessie Laughman; brother-in-law, Paul and Jean Shimp of Versailles; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to her parents, Treva was also preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Mullen; second husband, Roger Shimp; son, Edward Leroy Mullen; brothers, Earl, Lowell, Herbert and Talbert Laughman; and sisters, Olive Ditmer, Mary Labig and R. Myrl Wilson.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, with Rev. Dr. Richard Culp officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery in Gettysburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
