Death
Dec. 1856 page 345 Gospel Visitor
Died in George’s creek congregation, Fayette co. Pa., on the 19th of Sept. sister CATHARINE BLOCHER, wife of Samuel Blocher, aged 56 years, 6 months and days. Text at the funeral, Rev. 14: 13.
The deceased with her husband was received into the church in 1827. She was an exemplary Christian, a kind wife and an affectionate mother. She was always pleased to have meetings for worship in her house, and on such occasion, she spared no pains to make all comfortable. She was kind to the poor. On the day of her funeral, a poor man remarks. “I have lost a mother.” “The memory of the just is blessed.”
