Johann Jacob or Jacob S. RENSBERGER

We need to resolve the question of whether or not Johann Jacob RENSBERGER and Jacob S. RENSBERGER are the same person. Related to that question is whether or not he was born 3 Apr 1777 in Frederick, Frederick Co., MD or 1807 in Somerset Co., PA.
Jacob S. RENSBERGER [I have no further information about him except this narrative from my grandmother: Jacob and Frances HOCHSTETLER were married in 1826 and lived in Somerset 1 year and in Fayette Co. one year. He moved back to Somerset Co., staying there 2 years. In 1831 he took his family to Holmes Co, Ohio. After a visit to some of his Maryland family he decided that the correct spelling of the name was RENSBERGER. He lived 15 years, 6 months in Holmes Co. and in 1847 moved to Indiana where he settled 2 miles east of Goshen on a farm of 182 acres. He died in New Paris.]
The above information is taken from the book of genealogy of the REMSBERG Family in America by Rev. Wilson L. REMSBERG in 1912 and added to by Bertha Ann FLEMING, Williamsport, IN in 1964. Also from “ROMSBURG Notes” assembled by Eber COCKLEY, Meyersdale, PA, and letters from Mrs. Jacob G. SUDER, a descendent of Charlotta, daughter of Elias.
