Death
Ray Steele Orme, 87, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin, formerly of Outlook Pointe (Elmcroft), Reedsville, and Lewistown.
Born Sept. 14, 1920 in Marysville, PA., he was the son of the late Fred S. Orme and Nancy Elizabeth (Steele) Orme. His wife, Carol Delilah (Bowlby) Orme, whom he married on Dec. 16, 1941 survives at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67, Box 7, Mifflin, PA. 17058.
Surviving is his daughter, Nancy Kay, wife of Gary Earon of 3517 Azinger Loop, Zephyrhills, FL. 33541; granddaughters, Lynn (Earon), wife of Michael Dateman of 2910 County Trail Drive, Plant City, FL. 33567 and Stephanie (Earon) Costley of FL..
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred S. Orme, Jr..
A niece, Carol (Orme), wife of Keith Booher, survives.
He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1937 and Toccoa Falls College in Georgia.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving from 1941 to 1945 in campaigns in Africa, Italy, Southern France and Germany as a Staff Sergeant in the 939th Field Artillery Battalion.
He served as a CMA pastor in Peckville and Lock Haven, PA. and St. Petersburg, FL.. He was a member of the Pine Glen Christian & Missionary Church.
He was also a member of the James Madison Brigade of the National Rifle Association.
He retired from Messiah College as a maintenance supervisor.
There will be a memorial service to be announced later.
A committal service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
