Death
John Randall Hamilton, veteran car repairman for the
Huntingdon Broad Top Mountain Railroad Company, died at the home of Floyd Mellot, where he had made his home for several years, in Saxton, Thursday evening, November 23, 1939, at 7:30 o'clock, death being attributed to the infirmities of age. He was a son of David and Hannah Stapleton Hamilton and was born at Eagle Foundry, Huntingdon County, on
March 5, 1854. He was married to Margaret Fulton in Cumberland, Maryland, who preceded him in death. Mr. Hamilton was the last member of his immediate family, his nearest surviving relatives being these nieces and nephews: Mrs. Miller Greene, of Cassville, Elmer Posten and Mrs. Emma Shelly, of Hollidaysburg, Mrs. Hannah Lehman, of Altoona, David Posten, of Bellwood, and Mrs. Fannie Irvin, of Tyrone. He was a member of the Saxton Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows at Cassville. He retired as a car
repairman in 1929. The body may be viewed at the Huff Funeral Chapel in Saxton. Funeral services will be held from Huff's Funeral Chapel on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. L. S. English, of Saxton. Interment in the Fockler Cemetery.
