Mrs. Harry Steele of Stonerstown, died in her home Tuesday, March 13, 1928. Her maiden name was Barbara Hoover, daughter of Eli and Mary Hoover. She was born April 4, 1861, near where the Raven Run church now stands. She lived in Saxton and vicinity all her life. She was married fifty years next winter to Harry Steele who survives her. The following children are left to mourn the loss of a mother: George Steele, Bellwood; Charles Steele, Monessen; Mrs. Catherine Ross, Stonerstown; Mrs. John Weaver, Saxton; Mrs. Bernard Berkstresser, Tyrone; Mrs. Harry Quarry, Altoona; . Marguerite Steel at home. Mrs. Steele also leaves one brother, James Hoover of Bellwood, and one sister, Mrs. George W. Taylor, of Saxton.
