Farmer and stock-raiser, Sec. 17; P.O. Wiota. Native of PA, born in Warren Co., 3 APR 1832; he grew up in that state; after reaching manhood he came to WI; in 1854, and settled in Wiota, and since then has been successfilly engaged in farming and stock-raising, giving his attention largely to raising cattle and hogs. When he came to this state, he only had $100 in money; he now owns over 700 acres of land. His success is owing to his own efforts and good management. He has held town offices, Mr. THOMPSON married Adeline BOWLSBY, a native of OH; they have eight children - Adeline, John S., Robert M., Ashton A., A. Livingston, Cora L., Willard L. and infant daughter. Adaline BOWLSBY and Samuel THOMPSON had the following children:

Edith Adaline THOMPSON, was born in Jul 1864 in Wisconsin. She died in 1951. She was buried in Union Grove Cem., Darlington, Lafayette Co., WI.

Robert M. THOMPSON Dr. was born in Aug 1866 in Wisconsin. He died on 3 Dec 1934 in Monroe, Green Co., WI, He was buried in Union Grove Cem., Darlington, Lafayette Co., WI. He resided in the old homestead in Darlington, Lafayette Co., WI.
