MARY DRURY BOWLBY DIES
Mary Drury BOWLBY. was b May 23, 1879 at High Point, Ia. and passed away April 10, 1949, at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 17 days in the C. A. McPhail home in Protection Kans., where she had been for the past five years. She had been in poor health for several years.
She was united in marriage to Grant BOWLBY, May 12, 1897. To this union 10 children were born, seven are still living. Mr. BOWLBY passed away Feb 20, 1923. Mr and Mrs BOWLBY were pioneers in the southwest section of the State and homesteaded land in Kiowa Co.
She leaves to mourn her passing her seven children: Samuel, Bucklin, Kans; Hazel C. DUNCAN, Meade, Kans; Finnis Aaron. Yakima, Wash; John H, Sand Point, Idaho; Lee of Yakima, Wash; Bette NEWLAND, Columbus, Ind; 17 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Inex MONDT, Brookville, Kans; Carrie MONDT, St Marys, Ks; Florence BROWN, Dennison , Kans; Jane Drury SCHLIEF, Okla. City, Okla; one brother, Chriss DRURY, in Mo; and many other relatives and a host of friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all and especially from the fome [?] of which she has been faithfully cared for the past five years. A precious one from us has gone. A voice we lived [?] is still. A place is vacant in our home. Which never can be filled.
Services were conducted in the Methodist Church by Rev. Milton B Holcomb. Organist, Mrs E. A. Stephenson; quartet Mrs J F McCarty, Mrs S A Nease, Harold Thorpe and E A Stephenson.
Arrangements and funeral service were directed by the H T Minnis Funeral Home.
