Death

BURNHAM -Mary R. Matter, 83, of 217 Seventh Ave., Burnham, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin. Born May 16, 1918, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Eva (Brick) Pasternack. Her husband, William H. Matter, preceded her in death on April 9, 1987. Surviving are: children, William P. Matter, Burnham, Gary L. Matter, Omaha, NE, Mrs. Jesse (Patricia) Alexander, Lewistown, and Mrs. Neal (Virginia) Aumiller, Milroy; brothers and sisters, Kay Bailey, York, Ann Snyder, Elizabethtown and Thomas D. Pasternack, Burr Oak, MI; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. A homemaker, she was employed in her early life at American Viscose Corp. and attended the Walnut Street United Methodist Church. Her funeral service is at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Larry K. Lutz officiating.
