Richard D. Gilbert
YORK Richard D. "Pret" Gilbert, 80, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Rest Haven-York. He was the husband of Peggy A. Gilbert for 61 years. A viewing will be 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Belch officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gilbert was born February 7, 1932 in Milroy, a son of the late Harvey W., Sr., and Stella (Rosa) Gilbert. He had been employed at Cole Steel for 37 years and later retired from Gamlet, Inc. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, Chapter 67. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was a graduate of Derry Township High School. Pret is survived by his wife; sons, Rick Gilbert and his wife Barbara, and Danny Gilbert and his wife Judi Ann; grandchildren, Christine and Jeanean, Ryan and Shawnee, Shad and Holly; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Gilbert; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Brian W. Gilbert, and Dean K. Gilbert; and brothers, Harvey, Gerald, and Gene.
