"MRS. KURTZ DIED SUNDAY EVENING
Last evening, shortly after 9:30 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John HERCHER, Fifth Street, occurred the death of one of Neenah's grand old ladies, Mrs. Katherine KURTZ following a prolonged illness. The deceased was born in Wayne County, Ohio, where she spend her childhood days, coming to Neenah about sixty-four years ago where she has made her home since. Mrs. KURTZ had a large circle of friends who will miss her from their midst as she was of the jolly nature that made her dear to all who knew her. She was eighty-two years of age and is
survived by five children, Mrs. Russell PENDLETON, Mrs. John HERCHER and S. E. KURTZ of Neenah; Frank KURTZ and William KURTZ of Passagula, Miss. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Hercher home the Rev. D. C. Jones of the First Presbyterian church officiating.
With the passing on of Mrs. KURTZ this vicinity loses one of its oldest residents, one who came here when the city was almost wilderness and who delighted in being able to watch it grow to the present beautiful city."
