Death
Mabel Louise Rudy, 90, of Pennsylvania Furnace, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. Born March 2, 1926, in State College, she was the daughter of Miles Billett and Katherine Sunday. On October 31, 1947, she married Clair Rudy, who survives. They just celebrated 70 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons and two daughters, Dean Rudy and his wife Linda, Tom Rudy, Kitty Stoner and her husband Barry, Barb Daughenbaugh and her husband Buddy, Terry Rudy and his wife Betty, and Dan Rudy and his wife Kim; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Peg Williams and Donna Wilt. She was preceeded in death by one son, Donald Clair Rudy; one daughter, Louise Ann Naugle; one brother, Robert Billett; and one granddaughter, Michelle Rudy. She was the bookkeeper for Clair's construction business for 50 years. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, quilting and knitting. On birthdays, she always made our favorite meal. She also enjoyed holiday weekends at the family camp. She attended Gatesburg Lutheran church. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Susan Williamson officiating. Private burial will take place at Centre County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mabel's name may be made to the Gatesburg Lutheran Church, 1924 W. Gatesburg Road, Warriors Mark, PA 16877.
