Notes
Death
Nona Chestereen Vig passed away November 5, 2012 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho at 95 years of age. Nona was born March 28, 1917 near Avance South Dakota to Charles and Nona Bowbly. She was the seventh child of fourteen children. Nona grew up on their family ranch part of which her father had homesteaded. Early life was spent working outside riding horses and caring for the stock along with taking care of the younger siblings. She attended a two room country school until eighth grade. She rode her horse two miles to school. Nona completed two years of high school in Faith, South Dakota.
On August 28, 1934 she married her loving husband Harvey William Vig in Sturgis, South Dakota. They moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho in 1934 with Harvey’s family where they settled in Dalton Gardens and raised four children. Nona loved her family above all else. She was a home maker, gracious host who loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. She kept everyone informed regarding all special dates.
Nona lived at the Loyalton in Coeur d’ Alene for the past several years and had many wonderful friends. She enjoyed all her activities and many visits with everyone.
Mom, we have fond memories of you sewing and making homemade soups, cookies, pies and breads. We were blessed seeing you play with our children and grandchildren. You will be remembered with love and joy.
Nona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Doris Baillie and son James Sheldon Vig. She is survived by her children, Dale Vig (Lynn), David Vig (Patricia), Kathy Butterfield and Jim Baillie. She had eleven grandchildren and 51 great and great great grandchildren.
