Merrion K. Howell
ASHTABULA (OH) – Merrion K. Howell, 92, formerly of East 45th Street died Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Country Club Retirement Center. She was born April 4, 1911 in Wadsworth, the daughter of Louis and Della (Brumbaugh) Hawk and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she worked over 25 years as a sales clerk for the Carlisle-Allen Company. She also ran the snack bar at Maple Ridge Golf Course and worked at the Ashtabula County Children’s Home.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church, she belonged to the Lydia Circle. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and doting over her grandchildren.
Her survivors include two sons, Donald F. (wife Judy) Bell of Geneva and William L. (wife Rose) Bell of Dorset; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Howell in 1953; one grandson, Michael Bell; one brother, Chester Hawk; one sister, Ruth Malcolm; and her parents.
A service will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the Greenalwn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 E. Center St., N. Kingsville. Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Long, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. No calling hours will be observed
