Obituary of Joseph A. KAGARISE
Joseph A. KAGARISE, 67, of Woodbury died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Bon Secours - Holy Family Hospital.
A funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury, by Pastor Larry Graybill.
Burial was in the Salemville Cemetery.
He was born July 11, 1937, a son of Jack and Pauline (Bayer) KAGARISE.
He married Darlene M. BAKER on July 17, 1965, at New Enterprise.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jodie L., wife of Eric ZEMBOWER of Bedford; a son, Scott A., married to Michelle OAKES of Jacks Corner, Hopewell RR; and four grandsons, Jacob and Mitchell ZEMBOWER and Christopher and Conner KAGARISE.
He also is survived by a sister Marian MILLER of Woodbury.
He was a graduate of Replogle High School, where he was a standout pitcher and quarterback for the undefeated 1954 football team.
He retired in 2001 from Paul & Richard Clark Contractors, Bedford. He previously was employed at the Sylvania plant in Altoona until it closed in 1981.
He was a Navy veteran, serving as a flight engineer for an airship squadron.
He was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. He was a former scoutmaster for Troop 84 and volunteered as a Little League coach.
