Death
Norris H. Bickel
Norris H. BICKEL, 79, of Ansonia, Ohio, died Jan. 28, 2007, at the Dayton Heart Hospital in Dayton.
He was born April 4, 1927, in York Twp., Darke County, Ohio, son of the late Herman and Lena (Riegel) BICKEL. He was a farmer and retired from the Union City Body Company, Union City, Ind. He also served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II, was a member of the Ansonia Christian Church and the Ansonia American Legion.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Irene E. (BRUMBAUGH) Bickel on Aug. 15, 2006; they married on Aug. 13, 1945; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Robert Gehl of Longboat Key, Fla.; twin sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Diane Bickel of Versailles, Rick and Tammy Bickel of Arcanum; grandchildren, Heidi and John Powell of St. Cloud, Fla., Chad and Alicia Baughman of Greenville; Heather and Jeff Myers of Holland, Mich., Dr. Brent and Bethany Bickel of Columbus, Eric and Lisa Bickel of Brookville and Corey Bickel of Maricopa, Ariz.; step-grandchildren, April Van Depitte of Rossburg, Jason Van Depitte of Walton, KY., and Robin Nelson of Bradenton, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will take place in the Greenville Twp. Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
