Death
Wise, Dorothy (Brumbaugh)
Age 93, of Hartville, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009. Dorothy was born on January 13, 1916 on the Brumbaugh farm near Hartville, the daughter of Howard and Effie (Fall) Brumbaugh. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1933 and was a longtime resident of the Hartville and North Canton area. On August 19, 1938, she married Roy P. Wise, who died on November 24, 2004 after 66 years of marriage. She and husband, Roy, ran Wise Orchard near North Canton for over 50 years. Dorothy also worked in the North Canton School District cafeteria for many years. She was baptized at and was a member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren for most of her life. She was a member of AARP and Hartville Senior Citizens, retired member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and former member of the Akron Yacht Club. Dorothy is survived by three children, Lawrence and Mary Wise of Ann Arbor, MI, Phyllis and Pastor Edward Carl of Waynesboro, VA and James and Colleen Wise of Dayton, OH; five grandchildren, Brian Wise of New York, NY, Eric Wise and Lisa Sharkey of Plymouth, MI, Julie Wise and Paul Malovrh of Columbia, SC, Jason and Lisa Carl of Madison, KY, and Travis Wise of San Jose, CA.; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Zachary Carl; sister Florence Brockett of Rootstown, OH, and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Cain of Canton, OH and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Price, Thelma Wayble and Miriam Miller. Friends may call Sunday TODAY 4-7 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home and Monday in the church 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in the Hartville Church of the Brethren with Pastors Tobin Crenshaw and Larry Black officiating. Final resting place is North Canton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hartville Church of the Brethren.
