Last Rites Performed For Flora Neff CROTHERS
Flora Neff CROTHERS, the only child of Mr. & Mrs. Wilburn NEFF, was born September 30, 1867, in the town of Galion, Ohio.
In 1870, when she was but three years old her father passed away and three years later her mother married Mr. Daniel MCALPINE. To this marriage came Donald and Cynthia. Donald passing on December 27, 1945. Flora Neff married John CROTHERS in 1883, he passing on June 7, 1900. Their four children; Elsie, Wilburn, Bessie and Louisa have preceded her in death; Louisa in 1900 at the age of fourteen years, Elsie at the age of thirty-one years; Bessie in 1916 at the age of twenty-six and Wilburn in 1920 at the age of thirty four years.
Mrs. CROTHERS was a Member of the Baptist Church. She was a woman of sterling qualities, never neglecting a duty or care for her mother, Mrs. McAlpine for two and a half years.
She is survived by her *sister, Mrs. C.E. Long of Grand Haven and Ten Great Grandchildren. The Grandchildren are; Mrs. Helen Zeldenrust of Everett, Wash.; Mrs. Donald Pertner, Delivel, Wash.; Mrs. John Long of Grand Haven, Mich.; Mrs. Cleo Doty of Calif., Mrs. Murna Burnett of Jackson and Mrs. Marian Outman of Six Lakes.
Funeral was held at the Dockery Funeral Home, Elk Rapids and she was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Sunday.
