Shirley Ruth Merritts - Of Canoe Creek, died at her home yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock after having been seriously ill with a heart condition for a week. She was born Oct. 11, 1933 at Canoe Creek, the daughter of John and Margaret (Clapper) Merritts and was a student in the Canoe Creek school. Surviving are her parents, one sister, Jacqueline at home; her maternal grandfather, Howard F. Clapper and paternal grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Archie Merritts, all of Canoe Creek. Miss Merritts attended the Methodist church. Friends will be received at the Bechital funeral home, Williamsburg.
