Amina Charlotte Elizabeth Baker
(7 Feb 1871 - 17 Apr 1955)
On arriving in New Zealand, Amina and her parents went to Foxton. After a short period they travelled to Palmerston North by horse-drawn tram and continued to Feilding by bullock dray. They lived in toi-toi huts until her father built a house in Denbigh Street. Afterwards the family moved to Mangaweka and Karaka, with Amina attending school at Rongotea. After her marriage to John Meredith Mudford, they lived in the Foxton district (Rongotea) until 1899, when they bought a farm at Taikorea. The farm was sold after the death of John in 1943.
