Jean Méchin

(Abt 1600 - 6 Nov 1646)

Hired in La Rochelle on June 16 1645 by Pierre Legardeur to come to New France.

The Jesuits' Journal claim that Jean, along with eight men, drowned going from Quebec city to Trois-Rivières when their ship wrecked on Cap-à-l'arbre (St-Jean Deschaillons). He is believed to be Jeanne`s father but no documentation has been found to prove it.
