Pierre Lamusette Piché

(18 Aug 1632 - 31 Oct 1713)

Filles du Roi / King's Daughters

In 1642, Pierre received a letter from his brother Louis Pichet, advising that Pierre's first wife Marie Lefèbvre had died in France. In 1671, a man coming from France, told Pierre that Marie Lefèbvre had not died. Pierre went to the Bishop Pétrée and advised him of the situation. Pierre went to France and found Marie Lefèbvre and they both sailed to Canada aboard 'La Nouvelle France'. Marie died aboard ship. The Church declared Pierre`s marriage to Catherine Durand annulled but reinstated it on Sept 19 1673, so that the children could be heir to their parents` belongings. This statement was made by Frontenac on Sept 11 1673. (Tanguay)
