«Fin de l’année mil six cent soixante-cinq, Charles Bernier, fils de Jacques Bernier, habitant de l’Ile d’Orléans, âgé de deux ans, étant fort incommodé d’une descente (hernie) fut voué à Sainte-Anne par son père et sa mère qui le portèrent dans son église du Petit Cap, où après avoir fait leurs dévotions et prié cette grande Sainte avec foi et confiance, lui otèrent en sortant de l’église son bandage dont il était bandé, et depuis ce temps-là a été parfaitement guéri sans en avoir jamais ressenti aucune incommodité, ce qu’ils m’ont attesté être véritable. Another testimony made to Fr. Thomas Morel, claims that in 1665, Charles, then two years old suffered from a severe hernia was recommended to Ste-Anne by his parents and as they left the church, removed his bandage and was totally healed.
