Jean Mathieu

Occupation was a buther. He came to Quebec in 1659, at the age of 22. He became established in the Beaupré area, including having the luxury of a servant.

He was drafted into the military service and was sworn in on 13 September 1666. His Carignan Regmient left the next day, to fight the Iroquis in the northern part of New York. He returned to Quebec on 5 November 1666, returning to his farm a couple of months later and prospered once again.
