Heart failure claimed the life of seventy-seven year old Mrs. Audrey B. Payton on March 4, 1999.
Funeral services for her were held March 8 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Bonner
and Rev. John West officiating. Burial took place in the Church cemetery.
The former homemaker was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Her survivors include two daughters, Vicky Brown of Newton, and Marcia Wheatcraft, also of Newton;
four sons, Ken Saterfield and Bob Saterfield both from Monroe, La., and John Saterfield and Dale
Butterbaugh, both of Mansfield, Ohio; one stepson, Joel Payton of Florida; one sister Lena Cleveland of
Baton rouge, Louisiana; two brothers, Jimmy Baucum of Odessa, Texas and Frank Baucum of Newton,
MS; thirteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were C. E. Wall, Glenn Wall, Lewis Wilson, Logan McMillan, Steve Mills and Joey Mills.
James F. Webb Funeral Home handled arrangements.
