Josiah Jackson Childers

He migrated to MO at the beginning of the Civil War and fought in the 47th Infantry, CO C in MO.
He's living next door to his sister Susan Childers Ketcherside on the 1870 Iron Co., Mo.
On the 1880 Census he is listed as John.
He enlisted in the Union Army on August 30, 1864, for a period of six months, mustering in on September 4, 1864, at Pilot Knob. He was assigned to Co. "G", 47th Regiment, Mo. Infantry, under Captain Mace. After withdrawing from Fort Davidson in the middle of the night they skirmished to Leesburg and later to Rolla. He mustered out at Benton Barracks, St. Louis Co. on March 28-29, 1865. ( Information from Wilma Cofer)
