Chris says that when she was small her name was Lena but everyone called her Reen. When she was in high school she decided to use the name Christine because she liked it. She never had a birth certificate because in 1938 the court house in Eminence, Mo. burned. In 1950 she had a lawyer try to find her birth certificate. He found it. Everything is right but the name, it says Viola, which is crossed out and Christine Lena Nance is written above it.
She first lived in Eminence, Shannon Co. , Mo. then Mayville, Dodge Co., WI. then Streator, IL. Then Beaver Dam, Dodge Co., WI. After she married they moved to Luke, Md. where her husbands family lived.
