Individual Details

John enlisted in the Civil War on June 30, 1864. He was mustered out on
October 21, 1864 at Rock Island, Illinois. He was in Company C, 48th Regiment
of the Iowa Vonlunteers. John enlisted a second time on January 25, 1865 with
Company A, Second Cavalry. He was mustered out on September 19, 1865 in
Selma, Alabama. Nellie [believed to be his 3rd wife] then married a Mr Davis
by whom she had one daughter. John was a policeman at the Capital building &
lived at 1453 E Walker with his daughter Della in Des Moines, IA in 1891.
