Margaret helped to organise and prepare St Katherine's Hospital, Regents Park. She was on the Committee before it opened, and took a very active part as Superintendant of the Voluntary Aid Detachment (V.A.D), organizing the "shifts" and having complete control of the V.A.D arrangements from start to finish. She was made Hon. Commandant at the request of the Hospital authorities, in recognition of her services. Mrs McKerrow continued a member of the working Committee to the end.
