The CzGen project is focused on over 900 immigrants from the Czech lands to the Hillsboro, Wisconsin, area. It includes thousands of people related to those immigrants, often in very distant ways.
The three most basic rules for success with this site are:
1. SEARCH THE NAME INDEX. The Name Index links on this page are the place to start..
2. IGNORE the two Pedigree Chart links on this page. Find a person first then select their pedigree link.
3. PLEASE SEARCH THE NAME INDEX.
The Name Index lists all surnames in this site. Select an initial letter to see the list.
a. There is a search box in the upper right that allows searching on specific first and last names. In general, though, it would be better to go through the surname list and choose among the listed names under a surname, because many names have spelling variations.
b. Notes and sources are linked from the icons on the right side of Person and Family Pages.

The site was moved from a commercial hosting service to Rootsmagic's hosting service in May 2025. Rootsmagic's hosting offers fewer features, but the previous hosting service had shut down czgen.com because of Denial of Service Attacks by who knows whom. I will continue to be on the lookout for a better solution.
