In his will, Samuel makes bequests to his three "sons-in-law" (stepsons) who were the sons of his deceased wife Mary Lovejoy (widow): Christopher, Nathan, and Isaac Lovejoy, a bequest to Nathan's wife Apphia. He also makes bequests to the six daughters of his deceased brother Benjamin (Sarah, Mary, Abigail, Elizabeth, Anna, and Dorcas), three sons of his brother Benjamin (Benjamin, Daniel, and Abiel), the sons of his brother Jonathan (Jonathan, David, Nathaniel, and Samuel), three sons of his deceased brother David (David, Solomon, and Jonathan), Zuriah daughter of brother Jonathan, Hannah and Sarah daughters of brother David, and the children of deceased Job Abbott (Job being a son of Samuel's brother Jonathan).
