KENT, Doris Redfern 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by fami l y M arch 27, 2005, in Santa Barbara, where she lived for the last twent y y e ars. A native Californian, Doris grew up in Fullerton, graduate d f r om Pomona College, and lived in Oakland, Menlo Park and Santa Barba ra . A fter raising three daughters, she pursued a career counseling and t e a ching math in Woodside High School in the Bay Area. Doris was always e a g er for the next adventure. In her retirement she traveled worldwide, b i r ding, fishing, and hiking. She particularly enjoyed spending time wit h h e r family at their Lake Tahoe cabin. Doris was predeceased by her hu sb a nd of forty-seven years J. Russell Kent of Menlo Park, her older bro t h er Dr. Wendell Redfern of Glendale, and her younger sister Phyllis Be c k man of Santa Barbara. She will be missed by her older sister Louise P e l ls of Santa Barbara, her daughters Connie Kent of Three Rivers, Karen B e r nard of Switzerland, and Carolanne House of Zephyr Cove, Nevada, thre e s o ns-in-law, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
