John was a farmer in Nemaha County all his life; a charter member of t h e L ondon Cemetery Association. In 1926, he and his wife moved into Au b u rn from their farm east of the city. He took an active part in commu n i ty life in the London precinct, was a member of the Pleasant Ridge sc h o ol board, the local Farmer's Union and helped to organize the county f a i r. After his wife's death, he resided with his daughter, Dorothy. H e a l so spent three winters in California with his daughter, Kathryn.
