Abner Hunt

Abner was a veteran of the War of 1812. He was a member of Lt. Col. J o h n McMahan's Regiment of the New York Militia in 1814. He also served i n C a pt Joseph Cone's Company of Detached Militia from August 24, 1814 t o N o vember 8, 1814. He applied for bounty land and received a certific at e f or 40 acres which he used to buy 120 acres in Adrian, Lenawee Co., M i c higan. 1820 & 1830 Census showed him & family living in Shelby, Gene s s ee , New York; 1840 & 1850 Census showed him & family in Adrian , L e nawee Co., Michigan; 1860 Census in Fairfield, Lenawee Co., Michiga n, a n d 1870 Census in North Star, Gratiot Co., Michigan where he died J une 4 1 8 70.
