Resident of San Leandro July 12, 1923 - Sept. 12, 2008 Kenneth passed a w a y September 12, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen M e r o, his children, Ken Mero (Donnah), Kathy Backer (Ron), Diane Robinso n ( J ack), David Mero (Janet), Richard Mero (Debbie), Laureen Dutra (Dav e) , R ose Rodriguez (Ray), Tim Mero (Judie), 27 grand-children and 23 gr e at -grand-children; dearly loved by all. Kenneth was born July 12, 1923 i n C o lorado Springs, CO, the only child of Clarence and Ollie Mero (pred ec e ased). They moved to Berkeley, CA when he was 2 years old. He became a n E a gle Scout at an early age and continued to be involved in scouting f o r m any years. He served his country proudly in the Navy during World W a r I I. He was a man of great faith and was an active member of First Pr e s byterian Church, Hayward for over 50 years. He retired from Southern P a c ific Railroad after 37 years of service. His greatest love was his fa m i ly. Family and Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at First Pre s b yterian Church, 2490 Grove Way, Castro Valley, CA on Thurs. Sept. 18, 2 0 0 8 at 11:00 a.m.
