Dian was raised in the Morgantown area, attended Morgantown High Schoo l a n d graduated from West Virginia University with a BS in Physical Edu ca t ion and Health. Dian taught Physical Education and Health in Northe r n V irginia schools for several years and then was a fulltime, active h o u sewife , raising four outstanding children while doing some substitut e t e aching in Fairfax , Va. and also serving as a sunday school t ea c her in the Methodist Church and a leader in the Girl Scouts. When t h e c hildren were all in school she returned to full time teaching and r e t ired after 15 years.
