Moved to Carroll/Weakley County TN in 1847-48. Owned 400+ acres of land on the county line in an area called New Hope and Christmasville. Had deed in both counties.

1860 County Census:

Served briefly in the CSA (Co. G, 55 Inf., Brown's Reg. formed in Trenton, TN). Company surrendered at Ten Mile Island, April 1862; he returned home and probably did not reenter the war (no records).

Charter member of the McKinzie Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1867. Charter member of the Pilgram's Rest Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1869.
