Obituary
Mr Zed Wingo, age 94, passed away at his family farm in Coweta County, Georgia on May 26, 2009. As a farmer who grew cotton and raised cattle, he spplemnted his income by working at the Palmetto Cotton Mill until it closed and began working at Colonel Bakery until his retirement. His joys in life were his family, tending his cattle and following the Georgia Bulldogs football team. He was preceded in death by his son, Hugh Franklin Wingo; sisters, Arrunie Wingo Parrett, Lula Belle Wingo Millians and Eula Maude Wingo; brothers, G. P. Wingo and his wife, Sondra, of Newnan; grandchildren; Chris Wingo of Newnan, Lori Mull and her husband, Chick, of Duluth; 8 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Grace Wingo Groth and her husband, Steve, of Lula, GA; and special friend and helper, Bill Harris.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Bobo and Dr. William O. "Bill" Priester officiating. Internment to follow at Holly Hill cemetery. Those wishing may send an online condolence at www.parrottfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to Ramah First Baptist Church, 502 Ramah Drive, Palmetto, GA 30268. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory, Fairburn, 770-964-4800.
