Served in the War of 1812 with Great Britain. Enlisted on July 7, 1813 for six months (served six months) from Amelia County, Virginia. Was a private in the 6'th Regiment, Virginia Malitia under Captain John Jeter and Captain Stephen P. Pool, comanded by General Porter. Served at Fort Norfolk, Virginia and was discharged at Camp Cross Roads (near Fort Norfolk) on January 7, 1814. Received no pension but his bouny land file was (NNRG) 55-80-32845. His bounty warrant numbers were No. 29347 for 80 acres of land and No. 32845 for 80 acres of land.
