As a young boy, on trips with his father to Salem, he saw President Monroe and heard Henry Clay speak. He attended Castleton Medical College in Vermont. Was a Docter and spent many years as a MD in Giles County, Virginia, Postmaster in Newport, Virginia. He created special tombstones . . . see his father's in Newport.
