Andrew Jackson WINGO

Served as a private in the Confederate States of America in the Civil War. Enlisted in the South Carolina Volunteers on March 4, 1861 at Columbia, South Carolina for a term of three years. Originally served under Captain Black but was later reorganized at Lighwood Springs, South Carolina under Lieutenant D. R. Duncan's Company, Edwards Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers. Renamed Company C, 13'th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry. He enrolled in Company C on August 27, 1861 at Spartanburg County Courthouse and joined for service on September 4, 1861. He was 27 years old, 5' 10" tall, dark complexion, blue eyes, dark hair and a merchant by occupation.
