Enlisted as a private in Company D, 55th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee, CSA, Hall County, Georgia; Hall Volunteers. Captured at Cumberland Gap, Tennessee September 9, 1863. Died of small-pox at Camp Douglas, Illinois May 2, 1864. Buried near there.
