Obituary of Mrs. Thomas Wingo
Susannah America Howitt, wife of Thomas Wingo, was born April 6, 1840, at Lancaster, PA; died April 11, 1929, at Ft. Collins, CO aged 89 years and 5 days.
Since the death of her husband October 24, 1907, she has made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Muriel Brandon, of Denver, CO, and Mrs. Walter Rittenhouse, of Ft. Collins, having resided for the past seven years with Mrs. Rittenhouse.
Besides her two daughters, she is survived by three sons, William and Bertwin of Beardstown, IL, and James of LaHarpe, IL.
For many years the Wingo family lived at 400 East Washington Street, Rushville, IL. Mrs. Wingo was in good health the later years of her life, taking a great deal of interest in reading, writing and sewing. Thursday morning she seemed as well as usual and died suddenly between 9 and 9:30 a.m.
Thomas Wingo and wife lived all their married life in Rushville from 1860 until his death in 1907. Their ten children were born and lived to manhood and womanhood here.
