Thomas Sprigg , Sr

Thomas arrived in the Maryland Colony from Northhamptonshire, England after 1750. He was a wee-to-do planter who was instrumental in the development of Prince Georges County and served as one of its first Justices. He owned a 1000 acres tract called "Northhampton" granted 1 March 1673, and a 325 acre tract called "Kettering" granted 1 August 1686, on the West side of the Western Branch of the patuxent River. He served as High Sheriff of Calvert County from April 4, 1664 until May 4, 1665.
