Will of John Stoddard:
2 tracts: one called Southampton Surveyed, for a certain Francis Batchlor, 26 Aug, 1662, which sd. Bathchlor had a dau. inter-married with a certain Wm. Smith, by virtue of which intermarriage, sd. Smith became a tenant by the courtesee of England in sd. land, and no hrs. of Batchelor appearing, land afsd. after death of Smith, would have reverted to the Lord Proprietary, which Smith, in an humble petition to Lord Proprietary, 3 Apr, 1684, prays that he might purchase his Lordship's Right of Reversion, which for a valuable consideration pd. by Smith, his Lordship granted, as will more fully appear by his Lordship's answer to the Petitioner, 9 May, 1684. See Liber 6 B, Folio 84.

Nov 12, 1735 from Raphael Neale of CC, Gent, to Edward Neale of CC. Bennt Hoskins, late of CC, Gent, owned 2 tracts of land in CC, the one called St Johns, the other, St Johns Addition, and by his will dated Feb 21, 1733/4, asked that the 2 tracts be conveyed to sd Edward Neale by his executor, in pursuance of an agreement made between him, sd testator, and sd Edward Neale, and appointed sd Rapha Neale his executor. Now this deed witnesses that Raph Neale has conveyed to Edward Neale, the 2 tracts of land. Signed -Rap: Neale. Wit-S: Hanson Jr, Thomas Hawkins.

Nov 12, 1735 from Edward Neale of CC Gent, to William Theobalds of CC, Gent, for 12,000 # tobacco and for divers other good causes, a tract of land in CC called St Johns, bounded by the woods on the north side of the common path going to Mr. Zachiah Wade, about a mile from the Little Beaver Dam, containing and laid out for about 100 acres. Also, a tract of land in CC called the Addition of St Johns, bounded by a white oak standing near the main road, a parcel of land called St Johns, containing and laid out for about 100 acres. Edwd Neale covenants that Theobalds may have the land, free from encumbrances from the heirs of Bennet Hoskins, late of CC decd, and from the heirs of Lewis Jones of CC decd. Signed -Edward Neale. Wit-Thomas Stone*, Wm Wilkinson*. Martha, the wife of the sd Edwd Neale, released her dower.
